I Can Quit Any Time, Pt.2

By Dave Klecha | December 7, 2006

It never fails.

As soon as I start to say anything about writing goals, or milestones, or whatever… it all goes in the crapper. No sooner did I write about how November went, then everything from work to the weather (and the momentary return of Saturday Night Gaming) put paid to the notion of me continuing consistent output into December.

So, thanks Sean Lindsay, I don’t need your help. I quit writing all the time, see? (I know, I know. He wants me to quit writing for good. But, well, it’s an illness. I’ve got mine, he’s got his.)

It’s kind of like when I talk about working out or eating better. And the less said, there, it seems, the better as well.

Which all, I think, makes the IT Consultant To The Writers (if not stars) a much more productive theme for the blog, though I doubt such pedantic advice will ever take the blog over completely. There is, after all, only so much ground to cover.

Anyway, my final word on the 101 Reasons blog, other than to say I’m looking forward to Reason #101, is that it’s a fine and noble effort… if intended to shatter the illusions of those who have any remaining about the writerly life. There are a lot of people out there, however, who take a lot of it for granted–the long odds, the meager pay, the lack of immortality and/or adulation–and write anyway. I’m not above encouraging those who have no illusions and struggle on, regardless.

So: Go Team Us!

Sean mentioned you on 101 Reasons and I thought I’d stop on over and say hi and see your blog. :) Nice to meet you.
