What A Nice Weekend

By Dave Klecha | November 12, 2006

Thanks, first of all, to all the nice people who stopped by to comment on my last post, owing I’m sure to a little linky lovin’ from Jay Lake. Very nice of you to stop by, please come again.

Pretty much since I made that post, I’ve been hanging out with other neopro author Merrie Haskell and some of our friends in a cottage on Gun Lake. I got plenty of writing done, more than I did last year when we did this, in fact, but not quite as much as I wanted to. It did not help that I hit my stride with it this morning, churning more before 1pm than I had either of the previous days (and on a pace to do more than both of them combined).

This and other reasons is why Merrie and I are tentatively planning some kind of week-long thing, involving perhaps more writers, also to be held out at Gun Lake sometime late next spring. If you’re inclined, you can watch this space for further* details.

The only thing I did not work on, that I should have, was a writing sample for a blogging job I’m applying for. But, I don’t have to have it until tomorrow, and I’m home all day tomorrow, so I should be able to get it done amidst actually working on my actual dayjob. Oh yeah… my actual dayjob. A bit of a bummer to be going back to that tomorrow… a bit of a bummer not to have this retreat thingy to look forward to.

Oh well, there’s always next year. And there’s always ConFusion to look forward to.

*One of the great things about hanging out with other writers, while you write, is you can ask about the farther/further controversy and get it boiled down for you (again, perhaps) at the right, critical moment.
