Welcome, To The Blog

By Dave Klecha | April 19, 2006

Ah, the original post.

I remember, way way back when, my beautiful wife wrote me a Perl script that organized three text files, named in an appropriate date format, into a blog. Very simple, very basic, back from the days before awesome software like this. I think it was 2000.

Anyway, the title of the blog comes from back when I used to drive from Grand Rapids to Holland, MI in the middle of the night to work the graveyard shift in trucking comapny USF Holland’s server room. This was my first real working commute of more than a couple minutes, and I got back into the habit from high school of ruminating deeply while driving. Occasionally, this even meant that I had something to write when I got to work and finished the monkey-like button pushing that was my job.

So there you go. Boring story. More exciting ones to come, though, I promise.
